With Saturday’s postseason matchups in the books, who gets the Divisional Round action started on Sunday? The NFC kicks things off with a regular-season rematch of the Los Angeles Rams vs. the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Raymond James Stadium. The Rams took care of business in Super Wild Card Weekend and now face off against the reigning Super Bowl champions.

What to expect from the Rams vs. Buccaneers game?

Has a postseason win ever been more significant for an NFL QB than for Matthew Stafford in Super Wild Card Weekend? The veteran signal-caller spent 12 seasons in Detroit and did not have a single postseason victory to show for it despite three playoff appearances.

An offseason trade between the Rams and Lions swapped QBs Jared Goff and Stafford. The pressure was on the latter to perform. Was the “no talent” excuse viable if he struggled this year in the postseason with LA?

Last week, Stafford went 13-of-17 for 202 yards and threw 2 touchdowns. Not incredible numbers, but a top-notch performance wasn’t necessarily needed from Stafford with how dominant Los Angeles’ defense performed.

Cardinals QB Kyler Murray was scrambling and panicking all game. The young QB threw 2 interceptions and was sacked twice. Arizona ended the first half with just 40 total yards. Los Angeles got pressure into the backfield consistently, and that should be a comforting sign heading into this Rams vs. Buccaneers matchup.

Can the Buccaneers’ offensive line hold up vs. the Rams?

The Buccaneers are cautiously optimistic regarding the status of their offensive line right now. Center Ryan Jensen and right tackle Tristan Wirfs suffered ankle injuries in last week’s Wild Card matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles. While Wirfs had to leave the game and left Raymond James Stadium in a boot, Jensen took every snap. Luckily for Tampa Bay, both linemen returned to practice Friday. Even better, Wirfs showed no discernable limp when participating in drills and walking around the field.

While head coach Bruce Arians is not ready to decide whether Jensen and Wirfs will play or not until kickoff, their trajectory is promising. Jensen finishing last week’s game leads many to believe that Tampa should at least have their center. Still, Brady was sacked 4 times against Philadelphia in a game the Buccaneers controlled from start to finish. The Rams will be a much more formidable challenge than the Eagles, and they have an offense that can keep up with Brady and company.

In this Rams vs. Buccaneers matchup, both offenses will not have an easy day. Both defenses are ready to roll and get to the QB. The question moves to which offense can make enough plays to offset this defensive showdown. Getting RB Leonard Fournette back from IR is enormous. Playoff Lenny will be ready to contribute, but the Rams aren’t missing nearly as many weapons. The offense is finally getting used to life without WR Robert Woods. Let’s call the upset and leave Brady no chance of back-to-back Super Bowls. The Rams upset the Bucs.

Rams vs. Buccaneers Prediction: Rams 28, Buccaneers 27
