The Kansas City Chiefs’ schedule for the 2021 NFL regular season has officially been revealed. Show For the third consecutive year, the Chiefs will have five appearances in prime time, with a whopping three games “Sunday Night Football.” The team has a few tough stretches as well, including a late season three-game stretch where they’ll face AFC West opponents. It’s the first year of the NFL switching to a 17-game format, which means the season will total 18 weeks including the bye. You can find the Chiefs’ schedule, Weeks 1-18, below in gallery format: BALTIMORE, MARYLAND - SEPTEMBER 19: Patrick Mahomes #15 of the Kansas City Chiefs warms up prior to the game against the Baltimore Ravens at M&T Bank Stadium on September 19, 2021 in Baltimore, Maryland. (Photo by Rob Carr/Getty Images) All I can think about is when the K.C. Chiefs are going to play on Sunday. If you’re like us, you’re ready to move on from the gut punch of a loss to the Baltimore Ravens in Week 2 as a K.C. Chiefs fan. It’s been a tough week overall and a lot of doubt has been cast over the Chiefs performance in general, and there’s nothing more we’d like to see than for Andy Reid and company to take out their frustrations on a division rival. In this case, it would be the Los Angeles Chargers. Right now, the Chargers sit with the same record as the Chiefs at 1-1. Both teams have to be shocked that they are looking up in the standings at the likes of the Las Vegas Raiders and Denver Broncos, but alas, that’s how upside-down the AFC West is so far this season. What that also means, however, is that the Chiefs have a very real possibility of sitting in last place in their own division—the one they’ve owned for years—after roughly 20 percent of the season has passed. Now, we don’t actually think that will happen. The Chiefs are presently 6.5-point favorites per our friends at WynnBET and given the emotions of last week’s fourth-quarter loss, the Chiefs are likely going to come out fired up and ready to make a statement (as well as reverse their present momentum) against the Chargers. How will these Chargers hold up? It’s hard to tell. They’re healthier than they have been in recent seasons with an offensive line that’s better than most iterations they’ve put out there. The Chargers also didn’t have Derwin James last year, and Justin Herbert was just learning the ropes as a rookie quarterback. All of this means we’re in for another entertaining game to watch on Sunday. Here’s what you need to know: Who: Los Angeles Chargers vs. Kansas City Chiefs When: 12:00 p.m. C.T. Next: Three lies we're believing about the Chiefs right now
In a pivotal AFC showdown, the Cincinnati Bengals will host the Kansas City Chiefs in a Week 17 matchup. Given where both teams started this season, it was fully expected for this game to have big implications for the Chiefs. But the fact that the Bengals are playing in such a key game this late in the season is a testament to their improvement. Cincinnati is coming off of a huge win against the Baltimore Ravens, a 41-21 rout that saw Joe Burrow throw for 525 yards and four touchdowns. The win gave the Bengals a division lead, and it further cemented how diverse a cast Burrow has to throw to. Three receivers went for 80-plus yards, with Tee Higgins leading the pack with 12 catches for 194 yards. Should the Bengals win this game, they’ll be in the driver’s seat for the AFC North, with an outside shot of further improving upon their current No. 3 seed in the AFC. To do all of that, however, the Bengals have to get through the hottest team in football. Above all else, the Chiefs look complete right now, turning in strong performances from their offense and defense from week to week. They dominated the Steelers last week in a 36-10 win where Patrick Mahomes threw for an easy 258 yards and three touchdowns. That’s now eight straight wins for the Chiefs, the longest streak in the NFL. The Chiefs are, naturally, favored in this one, but the spread is a bit surprising. The Bengals are home dogs at +5.5. Home field advantage hasn’t been overly favorable to them this season, as they’re 4-4, but it’s still a relatively large differential for a team playing as well as the Bengals have been. The Chiefs are 4-2 on the road this year, which is just as much a product of them being a well put-together team as it is of them playing well away from Arrowhead. Travis Kelce should also be returning for the Chiefs, and the NFL’s new COVID protocols will help with their situation after the outbreak before last week’s game.
