Sergio Valentino's "Drive Forever" is a 2020 instrumental remix of the 2017 song "Polozhenie" by Skryptonite that gained viral popularity in summer 2021 through use in Sigma Grindset memes. A Slowed + Reverb version of "Polozhenie" by DIOR, Samo & ID, a rap song using the same beat, has also been used in the memes. While multiple fan remixes of the beat exist, "Drive Forever (xakavir Remix)" by Sergio Valentino was the first version to achieve meme popularization. The melody is often referred to as the Sigma Male Theme Song.

On December 16th, 2017, Kazakh rapper and beatmaker Skryptonite (rus. Скриптонит) released his song "Polozhenie" (рус. "Положение") as a part of his third studio album Uroboros. The song accumulated over 24.6 million streams on Spotify and 25 million views on YouTube in four years (shown below).

DIOR & Samo's "Polozhenie"

On June 18th, 2020, Russian artists DIOR, Samo & ID released their song "Polozhenie" based on a remixed version of the beat. The music audio for the song gained over 5.1 million views on YouTube in one year. On June 19th, 2020, YouTube user Асиф Тагиев uploaded a remix of the song created by an unknown artist (shown below, right). The remix received over 443,000 views in one year.

On September 27th, 2020, German music producer Sergio Valentino released an instrumental remix of the beat as "Drive Forever" (shown below, left), posting it to YouTube On December 31st, Turkish artist Xakavir, also known as XKVR, uploaded a remixed version of the song to Spotify, with the remix gaining over 12 million streams in nine months. On January 9th, 2021, Sergio Valentino uploaded the remix to his YouTube channel, where it received over 3.1 million views prior to being taken down due to a copyright violation (reupload shown below, right).

On September 30th, 2020, YouTube channel Mario Beats reuploaded Valentino's remix as "Polozhenie – Skriptonit [Instrumental + slowed]." On November 7th, 2020, Russian music producer Xozzych posted a "Slowed + Reverb" version of "Polozhenie" by DIOR, Samo & ID. The video received over 10.6 million views in nine months (shown below).

The popularization of the beat started with Sigma Grindset memes, which were first created by Instagram user verywokeindeed starting on March 6th, 2021 (reuploads of verywokeindeed's videos shown below, left and right). In the videos, originally set to "Drive Forever (xakavir Remix)" by Sergio Valentino, imagined dialogues and thought processes of alpha, beta and sigma males were added, with the first such meme, an American Psycho edit, posted on March 19th (shown below, left).

Following the viral spread of verywokeindeed's videos through reposts, other users began creating similar memes, with various remixes of the "Polozhenie" beat being used, including "Drive Forever," "Drive Forever (xakavir Remix) and slowed + reverb version of "Polozhenie" by DIOR, Samo & ID (examples shown below).

Following its popularization in Sigma Grindset memes, the beat has been used in miscellaneous edits and videos on TikTok, YouTube and other platforms.
