What does Brad Pitt say about Jennifer Anniston?

It's been close to two decades since Jennifer Aniston and Brad Pitt ended their marriage, and while some fans are still holding out hope the two will reconnect romantically, a source tells ET the pair have no plans to rekindle their romance.

"Brad and Jen are still friends," the source says. "They talk and have a nice, friendly, cordial relationship."

According to the source, Pitt and Aniston -- who split in 2005 after five years of marriage -- "aren't getting back together, but they have a lot of respect for each other."

It's no surprise that the former couple remain on good terms. Pitt and Aniston have been supportive of each other post-split, with the 58-year-old actor even attending the Friends actress' 50th birthday party in February 2019. An eyewitness told ET at the time that Pitt appeared to be in a "good mood" and was "happy to be there."

More recently, Aniston opened up about her friendship with Pitt during an interview in June 2021 after she and her ex reunited for a Fast Times at Ridgemont High table read.

"It was absolutely fun," the 53-year-old actress gushed of the reunion. "Brad and I are buddies, we're friends."

"We speak, and there's no oddness at all, except for everyone that probably watched it and was wanting there to be, or assumed there to be," Aniston added. "We had fun, and it was for a great cause, CORE."

Following their split, Pitt went on to marry Angelina Jolie in 2014. The former couple divorced in 2019. Aniston, meanwhile, tied the knot to Justin Theroux in 2015. They split two years later but also remain friends.

Last June, Aniston spoke to People about her love life, revealing that getting married again is not on her radar -- nor is online dating.

"I'm interested in finding a fantastic partner and just living an enjoyable life and having fun with one another," she explained. "That's all we should hope for. It doesn't have to be etched in stone in legal documents."

"I'm going to just stick to the normal ways of dating," she added. "Having someone ask you out. That's the way I would prefer it."

Jennifer Aniston poked fun at her and Brad Pitt’s 2005 divorce during the final episode of “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” Thursday.

When the talk show host asked the actress, 53, how she dealt with “Friends” ending in 2004 after 10 seasons, Aniston joked with a shrug that she “got a divorce and went into therapy.”

The Emmy winner added, “Then I did a movie called ‘The Break-Up.’ I just kind of leaned into the end.”

Aniston was married to Pitt, 58, for just under five years before they called it quits.

“We would like to announce that after seven years together, we have decided to formally separate,” the former couple said in a joint statement at the time. “This decision is the result of much thoughtful consideration. We happily remain committed and caring friends with great love and admiration for one another.”

The actor went on to wed his “Mr. & Mrs. Smith” co-star Angelina Jolie in 2014. They split in 2016.

Aniston, for her part, married Justin Theroux in 2015. She and the “Leftovers” alum, 50, announced their breakup in 2018.

The “Morning Show” star previously called her marriages “very successful” despite their brief lengths.

Jennifer Aniston on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show."Aniston “got a divorce” and went into therapy when “Friends” ended.

“When they came to an end, it was a choice that was made because we chose to be happy, and sometimes happiness didn’t exist within that arrangement anymore,” she explained to Elle magazine in 2018.

Although Pitt was widely believed to have cheated on Aniston with Jolie, the “We’re the Millers” star has remained amicable with both of her ex-husbands.

“Brad and I are buddies. We’re friends,” the “Horrible Bosses” star told Howard Stern in June 2021. “We speak, and there’s no oddness at all.”

Aniston and Theroux are just as cordial. The actor told Esquire in August 2021 that they have “remained friends” since ending their marriage.

“We don’t talk every day, but we call each other. We FaceTime. We text,” he shared. “Like it or not, we didn’t have that dramatic split, and we love each other. I’m sincere when I say that I cherish our friendship.”

Theroux noted that Aniston makes him “laugh very, very hard,” gushing, “We can not be together and still bring each other joy and friendship.”
