Upon graduating from college and receiving a degree in their desired field, many people choose to sign their names with the addition of their degree included at the end of their name. For example, doctors typically sign "M.D." or "Ph.D." after their names, depending on what kind of doctorate they have attained. For someone with a Bachelor of Science degree, it is more uncommon to include it after signing your name, however, it is done. Sign your full name. Sign "B.Sc." or "B.S." at the end of your name, after a comma. Both designations are used and both are correct. Step 3Include the title of your degree if you wish. If you are writing a scholarly paper that will be published, you might want to include the type of B.S. degree you have, especially if it is directly relevant to the topic you are writing about. This will verify your expertise in the subject. For example, if you are publishing a paper relevant to the field of criminal justice, you may wish to sign your name with a "B.S., Criminal Justice" at the end.
The correct way to communicate your degree to employers and others is by using the following formats:
Double Majors - You will not be receiving two bachelor's degrees if you double major. Your primary major determines the degree (Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science). If you're not fully sure which of your majors is primary, check CheckMarq or call the registrar's office.

As a Swinburne graduate, you are entitled to add postnominals, which identify your qualification(s) after your name.
This is a guide to help you determine your postnominals (the abbreviated version of your qualification title). Note: You can only use postnominals once your award has been conferred (that is, you have received your testamur either at a ceremony or in the mail).
These study descriptors are for Swinburne-accredited courses only.
You can add the field of study to the letters that describe your award, if, for instance, you undertook a specialisation within your degree. Example: Bachelor of Social Science (Media Studies) equates to BSocSc(Media Studies) Exceptions: Bachelor of Laws equates to LLB and Master of Laws equates to LLM
The recommended order is the lower qualifications directly after your name, leading to the highest qualifications. Example: J Smith DipBus, BBus Institution nameThe name of the awarding institution should also follow your academic qualifications. If you hold multiple qualifications from the one institution then you just list it after all of the qualifications from that institution, not after each qualification. Example: J Smith DipBus, BBus RMIT, MBA, PhD Swinburne Professional qualifications |
