Bug Reports Install, Performance & Graphics
There’s a reason for that; once you zoom out, there’s no visible difference in the drawn texture.
Ok so do you see any real benefit from this hack when looking at the cockpit displays without zooming in? Meaning is the ghosting and general blurriness from DLSS any better with this hack or not really? It would be helpful to get some crispness back without having to zoom into the gauges every time you want to do a quick glance at them.
Ok, but why did you then use zoomed in screenshots? You will see a difference with double resolution in the distance you used. And you will also see differences more zoomed out on your monitor, but hardly on any screenshots. Kind Regards.
My screenshots are cropped from the cockpit wide view.
Ok, can you then provide me a full screenshot as reference, so I can try to get the same angle and width? 1 Like
Sure thing, I’ve uploaded them to my server so they don’t get recompressed (links below). The angle is easy: load up the C172. Pan down a little bit so the standby instruments are in view. TAA: DLSS quality: DLSS balanced: DLSS performance: DLSS ultra performance: 1 Like
One could reason that if it’s down sampling an already low resolution like 1024x768, it might improve it if it down samples something closer to 4k. As in the cockpit textures are better because they start from a higher resolution. Just a thought, but by no means backed by any understanding.
It’s Asobos Job to solve it. So why bother finding a solution here, if they do it anyway? 2 Likes

That sounds like a laptop. Make sure your CPU is not being throttled, and if possible, try raising the RAM speed. As you’re panning the camera, the CPU has to load in assets from memory, so bandwidth and latency are likely important. Also try playing around with the off-screen caching setting. For some people, High works better than Ultra when it comes to smooth panning. As a last resort, slowly reduce Terrain LOD until panning is smooth again. JayDee6281:
That’s a neat trick, and if it works as well in wider views, Asobo should consider adding a Glass Cockpit Supersampling option in the settings. Unfortunately I couldn’t get it to work with the C172 G1000, the display shrank to the top right quarter of the screen. Do you have the Marketplace version of the NXi uninstalled?

Spot on! Lol I know my perf won’t be as good as a PC but just reporting what I’m observing. ChaoticSplendid:
Yeah I have throttlestop running to prevent temps from throttling too often. The FPS would be periodically low in longer bursts if it was throttling. ChaoticSplendid:
Hmm I’ll try, but ultra usually works better for me. ChaoticSplendid:
It’s already at 100 lol. But that would probably fix it. 1 Like
I also tested the NXi and it has a css file with fixed px sizes, but I am working on a upscaled version. But here again screenshots from the fenix - I can see definitely a small difference in DLSS/Performance (100% upscaling) even in wide view and the difference gets more present, the closer you go. I just cannot get it to show in the screenshots. I can just advise to try it out. And if you then add a filter via NVIDIA Panel, you can gain additional readability. DLSS - Performance - PFD & ND Instrument double resolution DLSS - Performance - PFD & ND Instrument standard resolution But you get the same FPS in the Fenix Cockpit with TAA/100% (at least with a I9 / RTX 3090). I see no relevant difference in your screenshots as compressed by the forum:
The font is finer and it is not as noticable as on the monitor. 1 Like
What would be the best Screenshotformat for least compression? BMP?
They are compressed automatically when uploaded on the forum (and 1920x1080 is the max size it seems), so I would recommend hosting them elsewhere. Try Imgur or Postimg. 1 Like
Ok, thanks. 2 Likes
You can upload png although I’m not sure if it gets compressed to jpg on here. Your best option could be to crop to the size of a gauge or two in Gimp and quadruple the size before copy and pasting directly into your post. Even in jpg any differences should then be apparent. 1 Like
Do you have the same issue if you follow the OP’s steps to reproduce it?
Provide extra information to complete the original description of the issue:
Spec:
Are you using DX12?
Are you using DLSS?

I agree there is a slight loss in quality in the cockpit and I wouldn’t even bother with anything less than ‘Quality’ for DLSS. However I guess it depends if any performance boost you get with it is worth it … For me it is, especially when it comes to scenery but I only fly GA and gliders.
