How to make a hub in minecraft

I was trying to set up a hub server with BungeeCord but it seems that i can't have any of my friends can go on it. I was wondering if there was any other plugin that allows you to connect several servers together.

Hey,

So my server has been growing quite nicely over the past year. Although this is a good thing in general, it also means that there's a lot of things I need to do to keep it organized.

I've just added SkyBlock today, which made me come to the realization that I need a hub. We have three different worlds now - Survival, Creative, and SkyBlock.

I need some tips from you guys on how to create a hub with a few requirements:

When a player joins the server, they always spawn in the hub.

When a player goes into the survival portal, they spawn in their last position from where they left.

I'm Voxeling the world now while I wait for replies, so it needs to fit with the world I'm making. I don't need a pre-generated type of thing.

If it's BungeeCord, I want all the chats of all the servers to be interconnected.

I really have no clue where to start. I guess it would be by downloading a hub plugin, but I don't know which one to try.

I'll edit this if I have any more questions. Thanks!

EDIT: I want to have it all on the same server, aka, no BungeeCord.

EDIT 2: Okay, I'll do BungeeCord, but I want all the chats of all the servers to be interconnected.

Intro

There's nothing we all love more than a good server spawn instead of some poorly built diamond-block infested cube. But not everyone is a good builder. Many people (myself included) can have a great idea for a hub, but simply are not good enough at building to go through with the idea. I've experimented a little and found a quick and easy way to make a good looking hub that I think lots of people can benefit from if followed correctly. Let's get started

The Steps:

The first step is to get a platform to start with. I usually do a sphere of 40 and then fill in the corners. Once you've done that, mark two lines starting from the middle going to the edge of our platform. This will be the quadrant we work with.

After we've done that, what you're going to want to do is add some blocks on both lines to serve as the base for a path. I also like to add a circle near the middle as it will improve the build later on.

Now, we will be copying the quadrant into the other four corners so it helps to imagine what your pattern would look like rotated. Add on to the pattern whatever you like, I usually make a few circles and connect them via paths. Just generally shape the pattern into something you think looks cool

Now, start fixing up parts you think look weird and add any finishing touches.

This step gets a little weird, but trust me, it'll work. Pick around 5-6 types of wool colors and fill in sections of your pattern to be replaced with blocks of your choice later

Now, this one is easy. Elevate parts of your pattern to add some depth to it, keep in mind what this will look like when mirrored into the other corners!

Now's time for the fun part. Select your quadrant with worldedit, and type the following sequence of commands:     //copy     //rotate 90     //paste

After you've done that, you should see your pattern appear in one of the other corners. Repeat the rotate and paste command twice more to finish off the pattern

After that, it's up to you what you want to do! You have all of the different colors of wool, and to change it simply issue the following command:    //replace near 40 wool:lightgreen grassThat will replace all of the lightgreen wool with grass! You can replace the other colors in a similar fashion. Here's what it'll look like once you're done:

Now, once you have it set up in a way that you like, add any finishing touches you'd like to the floor, such as grass, patterns, a path, etc.

Once you've done that, you're done! From here, you can do whatever you want. But now you have an awesome base to work with the possibilites are endless! For my minigames hub, I chose to add houses surrounding the pattern. Another idea is to have a patch of grass surrounded by mountains on the outside, or maybe have it at the bottom of a cave. It's up to you!

I hope you enjoyed this tutorial and it helped you (at least a little) to make a spawn for your server that won't give me a seizure when I look at it! :P If you'd like to see this method in action, check out my Medieval Spawn download, which uses this style of building.
