I have had long-running issues with the front camera on my Surface Go, mainly in that the Win 10 Camera app never showed anything but black, Zoom crashed as soon as front camera was selected, and occasional bluescreens on startup with iacamera64.sys as the culprit. Show The solutions that I attempted without success were the following: Disable and enable front camera in Device Manager Disable and enable front camera in UEFI Uninstall and reinstall drivers for the front camera Roll back drivers to an earlier version Reinstall Windows 10 What finally solved my issues was this driver package from Lenovo, for their tablet using the same camera solution: https://support.lenovo.com/de/en/downloads/DS112297 I simply installed it and both front and back cameras are now working again! I haven't used this for long enough to say if the occasional bluescreens are gone, but I'll update this post if that turns out to be an issue. I figured sharing this would be a good idea since I tried the majority of solutions found online and never saw this one mentioned. Hope this helps someone!
If you’re on Surface Book or Surface Pro, and your camera stops working, you’re not alone. Many users are reporting it. But the good news is you can fix it easily by yourself. Here’re 2 solutions you can try to fix this problem in Windows 10. Try the Solution 2 if the Solution 1 doesn’t work. Solution 1: Update your Surface camera driver Solution 2: Update your Surface camera app in Microsoft Store Solution 1: Update your Surface camera driverThis problem could be caused by an old or incorrect camera driver on your Surface. You can solve it through updating your camera driver. Follow these: 1) On your keyboard, press the Windows logo key and X at the same time to open the quick-access menu. 2) Click Device Manager. 3) Right-click on Microsoft LifeCam Front/Rear in Imagining devices. Then click Update driver. Note: You can update both camera drivers or the one with problem. 4) Click Search automatically for updated driver software. 5) Windows should then detect the update for your camera. Follow the on-screen instructions to finish the update. IMPORTANT: For some reasons, sometime Microsoft cannot detect the update for you. Instead, you can download the latest drivers from the official Microsoft website. Or If you’re not confident playing around with drivers manually, you can do it automatically with Driver Easy. It’s a tool that detects, downloads and (if you go Pro) installs any driver updates your computer needs. To update your drivers with Driver Easy, just click the Scan Now button, then when it lists the drivers you need to update, click Update. The correct drivers will be downloaded, and you can install them – either manually through Windows or all automatically with Driver Easy Pro. 6) Restart your Surface and see if your camera works.Solution 2: Update your Surface camera app in Microsoft StoreThis problem could also be caused by the bug of your Surface camera. You can solve it through updating your camera app in Microsoft Store. Follow these: 1) Type store in the search box and click Store from the top. 2) Click the more options button on the right of Search, then click Downloads and updates. 3) Click Get updates. 4) Then your Windows camera app should be updated to the latest one. 5) Restart your Surface and see if your camera works.

Categories: How-ToNewsRead the latest news about Windows 10SurfacetipZ-Quality-Article So you’ve got yourself a shiny new Surface Book i7 or perhaps a Surface Pro 4 to use around the house and the office. Working in Microsoft’s ecosystem has never been so beautiful. But there’s just one problem. Your device’s camera isn’t functioning, so you can’t scan those important documents using Office Lens like you would normally, nor can you use Microsoft’s Skype app to video chat with your colleagues. Like with all things Windows, this is most likely a driver problem and can be fixed with a little bit of effort by following these steps:
If this does not fix your camera issue, then it just might be a hardware failure issue, in which case you should be able to pop by a Microsoft Store and get it fixed. Any other Surface tips you would be interested in? Let us know in the comment below. Related Post
