Who plays ciara on days of our lives

Ciara Brady has become one of the most beloved "Days of Our Lives" characters of all time. Of course, it doesn't hurt that she's a legacy character who was born to one of the most iconic soap opera couples ever, Bo (Peter Reckell) and Hope Brady (Kristian Alfonso), per We Love Soaps.

Bo and Hope conceived Ciara shortly after suffering the loss of their young son, Zack, who died from injuries he sustained after being hit by a car. The death was one of the saddest in "Days of Our Lives" history and caused a rift between Bo and Hope.

However, after looking for comfort in each other, the two conceived Ciara (via Soaps in Depth). Her birth helped bring Bo and Hope back together, and they were over the moon about welcoming the little girl into their family, which also consisted of their oldest son, Shawn Brady (Brandon Beemer).

In the early days of the character, Ciara was played by twins Dakoda and Danica Hobbs, per Soap Central. However, over the years, "Days of Our Lives" viewers have watched her grow into an adult, which has caused a few casting changes along the way.

As Ciara Brady began to grow older, "Days of Our Lives" cast young actress Lauren Boles in the role in 2008. Fans began to fall in love with the little girl who portrayed the legacy character, and she was even given some big storylines of her own.

At one point, Ciara was kidnapped by a dangerous man named Kyle, who worked alongside his sister and her boyfriend to hold the little girl for ransom, per Soaps in Depth. To make matters worse, one of Bo and Hope Brady's co-workers, a corrupt cop named Dean, was behind the operation and planned to extort the wealthy Brady family. Thankfully, the Salem police figured out what was going on and ended up saving Ciara from her kidnappers.

Boles continued to portray the role until 2015, when Ciara fell victim to SORAS, or "soap opera rapid aging syndrome," and was recast as a teenager. However, the young actress shared a sweet goodbye message to "Days of Our Lives" fans and the character of Ciara (via Soap Central).

"My last episode airing was on September 30, 2015. I hope you had the chance to watch it," Boles wrote on Instagram following her exit from the show. "Even though I just played the role Ciara, there's always going to be a little bit of her inside me. I'll miss you, but I hope to come visit soon!"

Following Boles' departure, Ciara quickly became a member of Salem's teen scene.

"Days of Our Lives" opted to cast actress Vivan Jovanni in the role of a teenage Ciara Brady in October 2015, per We Love Soaps. Fans watched as the young adult navigated her tough teen years without her father, Bo Brady, who had left Salem and been gone for years.

During this time, Ciara's mother, Hope Brady, began dating a man named Aiden Jennings, and Ciara became close to Aiden's son, Chase Jennings. The pair also hung out with other teens like Theo Carver, Claire Brady, and Joey Johnson. Although Jovanni's Ciara wasn't long in Salem, she did tackle some very serious subject matter while in the role.

During Ciara's teenage years, she was sexually assaulted by Chase, who had become her close friend. Following the storyline, Jovanni admitted that she was a bit apprehensive about filming the scenes. "I was nervous at first, but also very grateful to be getting the opportunity to explore this complex and layered storyline," she told TV Source Magazine.

Jovanni later left "Days of Our Lives" in May 2017 (via Soaps in Depth), claiming that the decision to exit the role was mutual between herself and the production. "I am eternally grateful for the opportunity, love and support I received from everyone at 'Days' and the fans," the actress told Serial Scoop after leaving the soap.

After Vivian Jovanni's departure from "Days of Our Lives" in 2017, the sudser announced that actress Victoria Konefal would be taking on the role. She began airing on the soap in December 2017, notes Soap Opera Network.

The new Ciara Brady quickly won over fans and began to couple up with reformed serial killer Ben Weston (Robert Scott Wilson). The pair were given the nickname "Cin" by viewers and have become one of the show's most interesting and entertaining couples (via Paper Magazine).

Ciara was forced to defend her love for Ben to many, including her own family. However, the couple continued to grow closer by the day. They eventually got married and went on to suffer many ups and downs (via Soaps in Depth).

But they proved that their love was real by finding their way back to each other. Ciara and Ben also welcomed a child together in 2022, a little boy that they named Bo after Ciara's late father, according to Soaps.com.

Konefal has continued to gain fans in the role of Ciara. However, the actress has big career aspirations, and "Days of Our Lives" has accommodated that, giving her a recurring status so that she has the freedom to take on other roles and pop in and out of Salem at different times, per Soap Central.

Ciara continues to be one of the most beloved young characters on the soap, and fans can't wait to see what's in store for her in the future.

Days of our Lives' Victoria Konefal has once again left the NBC soap opera, bringing an end to her time as Ciara Brady.

Soap Opera Digest reports that the actress will make her last appearances on Friday, July 8, when Ciara and Ben (Robert Scott Wilson) leave town to meet Hope (Kristian Alfonso) on Beyond Salem, and on Monday, July 11, when the pair arrives in Montreal.

The soap's head writer, Ron Carlivati, tells the magazine that he understands that some performers have a desire to "spread their wings and seek employment elsewhere," but in the case of Konefal, "she really just wasn't available on a regular basis, and in the way our show works and how you have to schedule people, it just became less feasible to keep her in that status."

Carlivati also explained that when there's a story to tell surrounding a couple, "you need these people to be on contract."

Fans have seen Konefal leave before, and Ciara was famously "killed" in the past to accommodate the actress' desire to pursue other projects. The move was unpopular with fans, as it didn't give Ben and Ciara -- nicknamed "Cin" -- a satisfying ending. This time, however, the show left the door open.

"The couple is so popular, you want them to have a happy ending," Carlivati shares. "But then that involved writing Rob off the show, who doesn't necessarily want to leave."

So, what does that mean for Robert Scott Wilson? Will this be the last that fans see of Ben Weston, as well? To find out what Carlivati had to say on the matter, click here.

As for Konefal and her exit, Carlivati says, "it's really very hard for us. It is always painful to lose one person." But again, "The door's always open for them to come back."

Konefal joned DAYS in 2017. Some of her other credits include Forgetting Sandy Glass, Modern Family, The Wrong Crush, Deadly Exchange, and Circus Kane.

Victoria Konefal has come through and exited the Days of Our Lives revolving door on more than one occasion, and now the actress is set to leave the NBC soap once again, as reported by Soap Opera Digest. Having wrapped up filming, fans will last see her character Ciara in Salem on Friday, July 8, when she and Ben leave town to start a new journey.

Though headwriter Ron Carlivati understands that some of the stars who have currently left the canvas have a desire to “spread their wings and seek employment elsewhere,” in the case of Konefal, “she really just wasn’t available on a regular basis, and in the way our show works and how you have to schedule people, it just became less feasible to keep her in that status.”

He also explained that when there’s a story to tell surrounding a couple, “you need these people to be on contract.” Carlivati reflected on when they had to “kill” Ciara off before and shared, “The couple is so popular, you want them to have a happy ending, but then that involved writing Rob [Robert Scott Wilson, Ben] off the show who doesn’t necessarily want to leave.”

It’s clear that the writers’ hands are tied and they have to face many decisions on how to say goodbye to one half of a couple. He gets that the fans become upset when their favorite person leaves. “But they often do not understand what it means to be recurring.” While Konefal is recurring, it’s not the same as someone who comes and goes occasionally. “It depends on the person and their storyline and all of that.”

Fans will get to see “Cin” resurface shortly on Monday, July 11, when Ciara and Ben arrive on their boat in Montreal for Peacock’s Beyond Salem.

Now that Carlivati has explained a bit about the need to write off Ciara, what does that mean for Ben? He teased, “Salem hasn’t seen the last of Rob.”

Of the challenging situations surrounding the latest couple of exits, he stressed, “It’s really very hard for us. It is always painful to lose one person.” While a few new people will be introduced to the canvas, they are not trying to replace any who have left and Carlivati shared that “the door’s always open for them to come back.”
