After working out wide receiver Dez Bryant in August of 2020, the Baltimore Ravens signed him just a few months later to help boost their offense as they looked for production from their receiver room. However, Bryant didn’t have the impact that many were expecting in a Baltimore uniform, only catching six passes for 47 yards and two touchdowns in six games with the team.

Bryant has yet to sign with an NFL organization for the 2021 season, but took to Twitter to share that he “has faith” that he’ll be on a roster soon, saying he’ll continue to grind.

The veteran also posted multiple videos of him working out, and on one clip he wrote a message about his character and hinted that there’s a deeper reason as to why he’s not on a team right now. (Note: NSFW)

Despite not making the impact with the Ravens that many had hoped, he wasn’t utilized nearly as much as many people expected, including himself. Bryant has made it clear that he enjoyed his time in Baltimore, but he’s looking for other opportunities that will let him contribute on the field more.

As training camps begin around the league and the preseason and regular season get underway, Bryant could generate a bit of interest, especially if injuries or an overall lack of production cause teams to re-evaluate their wide receiver rooms. After missing all of 2018 and 2019 with injuries and waiting for the right opportunity, the three-time Pro Bowler completed his comeback by suiting up and playing in a Ravens uniform.

While Bryant’s time in Baltimore is most likely over, his kind words towards the team show that he is appreciative of what the Ravens did for him. For Baltimore, the wide receiver was a veteran presence who helped guide some of the Ravens’ younger wideouts. Bryant deserves another chance in the NFL to prove what he’s got, and hopefully a team will give him that opportunity sooner rather than later.

Former superstar wide receiver Dez Bryant made an improbable comeback to the NFL this past season, joining the Baltimore Ravens midway through their 2020 campaign.

Now, Bryant is looking to move on. Last month on Twitter, the former Dallas Cowboys star revealed the plans for his NFL future. While he said he enjoyed his time in Baltimore, an extension with the Ravens was not on his wish list. The ninth-year NFL wideout said he would love to play two more years in the league with a different franchise.

On Friday, we finally got some insight on Bryant's preferred destinations.

According to reports from TMZ Sports, the three-time Pro Bowler has the Arizona Cardinals at the top of his list.

"I think that would be dope being next to my boy D Hop [Deandre Hopkins], Christian Kirk, Kyler Murray," Bryant said. "I think they have a dope offense. I feel like they got a dope defense. I think they got a dope coach -- If I had to choose, yeah, if that opportunity presented itself, I think I would take it."

The Cardinals certainly have one of the most exciting up-and-coming offenses in the league. Through the 2020 season, second-year QB Kyler Murray led Arizona to No. 6 spot in NFL offensive rankings -- notching 6,153 yards of total offense.

Bryant's biggest qualm with the Ravens was their league-worst passing attack (171.2 ypg). Through six games in Baltimore, the veteran receiver collected just six receptions, 47 yards and two touchdowns. With DeAndre Hopkins as the only 1,000+ receiver on a 244.8 ypg Cardinals passing attack, Bryant could have a much greater impact in Arizona.

Despite being a 33-year-old receiver who just returned from a two-year NFL hiatus, Bryant believes he still has what it takes to compete at an elite level.

"I feel like if you gonna play me one-on-one," Bryant said, "I'ma win."

While Arizona is his preferred location, there's a pretty high likelihood that move doesn't work out. With a veteran wide receiver in Larry Fitzgerald already on the roster, there isn't much room to expand at the wideout position.

If his No. 1 choice doesn't work out, Bryant said he's open to a Cowboys reunion as well.

After sitting out the entire 2021 NFL season, not only is Dez Bryant ready to make a return to football, but it seems he already knows exactly which team he he'd like to play for this year.

During a recent interview with TMZ, the former Cowboys receiver revealed that if he could play for anyone in 2022, it would be the Arizona Cardinals.

"Kyler, the coach -- I love the swagger over there," Bryant said. "I just love the guys, especially DeAndre Hopkins -- that's my boy. We real close."

The interview took place before Hopkins' suspension was announced on Monday. That being said, the suspension is something that could potentially open the door for the Cardinals to at least give Bryant a call. That's not to say that Arizona is going to go out and sign Bryant, but the Cardinals definitely do need to figure something out with Hopkins now set to miss the first six games of the 2022 season.

After sitting out of football for a year, there's no way the 33-year-old Bryant could replace Hopkins, but he might be able to help the Cardinals in at least one spot. Not having Hopkins on the field is going to hurt the Cards' in the red zone, which is actually the one place where Bryant stills seems to thrive. During his 2020 season with the Ravens, Bryant caught just two passes in the red zone, but they both went for touchdowns. Before 2020, Bryant hadn't played since 2017 due to injuries, and in that season, five of his six touchdown catches came in the red zone.

Bryant is no longer anywhere near his prime, but if he can convince the Cardinals that he can help them, even it's just in the red zone, then they might consider signing him.

On the other hand, the Cards don't necessarily need to call Bryant and that's because they still have plenty of receivers on the roster even with Hopkins out for the first six weeks. Not only did they just trade for Marquis Brown, but they also have A.J. Green, Rondale Moore and Andy Isabella. Not to mention, they also just drafted a tight end (Trey McBride) to go along with the talented tight end (Zach Ertz) that they already had on the roster.

As for Bryant, he must really want to play for the Cardinals because this is the second straight year that he's made it clear that he's be interested in signing with them.

Dez Bryant hasn’t played in an NFL game since 2020, but the former Cowboys star is apparently still not ready to officially retire from football.

Bryant spoke with TMZ Sports this week and said he wants to return to the league to play on the Cardinals, specifically so he can play with quarterback Kyler Murray.

“Kyler, the coach, I love the swagger over there,” Bryant said. “I just love the guys, especially DeAndre Hopkins, that’s my boy. We real close.”

Hopkins, however, was suspended six games after it was discovered that the wide receiver violated the NFL’s policy on performance-enhancing drugs.

The Cardinals just traded for Marquise Brown on Thursday night, adding some depth to their receiving corps. He was the Ravens’ best wideout last season, finishing with with 91 catches for 1,008 yards and six touchdowns. Arizona also drafted tight end Trey McBride out of Colorado State in the second round of the NFL draft, adding another weapon for Murray

Bryant played in six games in 2020, and he didn’t play in 2018 or ’19 due to injury.
