If this is the issue with you, your AirPods have a different firmware. So, you need to pair one AirPod at a time and solve the problem.

Here’s the only way how you can resolve the issue by pairing one AirPod at a time:

  • Open the AirPod charging case and take one AirPod out of the case.
  • Close the case for 10-15 seconds and open the lid again.
  • Press and hold the setup button on the back of the case and pair this AirPod with your device.
  • Listen to music, podcasts, or watch videos for at least 15-25 minutes.
  • Lay aside your paired AirPod and put the non-paired one in the case.
  • Follow the same process for pairing this one. You’ll discover your phone treating each AirPod as a separate one in the Bluetooth settings.
  • Listen to music, podcasts, or watch videos for 15-25 minutes at least with the second AirPod.
  • Place both of the AirPods in the charging case.
  • Make sure to leave the case open and plug the AirPods into the power source for 2-3 hours.
  • Close the case and leave it charging for another 2-3 hours.
  • Open the case, and see a green light that indicates it is fully charged.
  • Navigate to the Bluetooth settings and remove the setup of two AirPods.
  • Open the case again.
  • Press and hold the setup button for 15 seconds until you see a red/orange/amber flash. It’ll turn white afterward.
  • Pair your AirPods as usual.
