No. 6 Baylor (11-2) will face No. 8 Ole Miss (10-2) on Saturday at 8:45 p.m. ET in the Allstate Sugar Bowl at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana. The game will be televised by ESPN. 

Baylor, which defeated Oklahoma State in the Big 12 Championship Game, is making its second Sugar Bowl appearance in the last three seasons. The Bears lost in the Sugar Bowl to Georgia in 2019, 26-14, under former coach Matt Rhule. 

Baylor is in its second season under coach Dave Aranda and is looking to pair a conference title with a New Year’s Six bowl victory for the first time in its history. 

Ole Miss, which finished second in the SEC West, has recorded its first double-digit win season since 2015, when it finished No. 10 in the final AP Top 25 poll and won the Sugar Bowl. The Rebels are in their second season under coach Lane Kiffin, who was previously the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at Alabama (2014 to 2016) and head coach at Florida Atlantic (2017 to 2019). 

The Rebels were led offensively by junior quarterback Matt Corral, who threw for 3,339 passing yards, 20 touchdowns and four interceptions. Corral could be a top-10 pick in next year’s NFL Draft, according to several outlets. 

This will be the second meeting between Ole Miss and Baylor in their history. Baylor won the previous meeting, 20-10, in 1975.
