Q: What does "community average roll" mean?

A: Community Average Rolls are a way of "crowdsourcing" what the best roll is on each weapon. By scouring the global Destiny population using the Bungie API, we are able to see which perks a wide variety of players select for each weapon. Those stats are presented as the Community Average Roll.

Q: What do you mean by the "global Destiny population"?

A: As part of this feature, we are now tracking all active players using the Bungie API, not just those who have signed in on light.gg. The statistics displayed here are based on all players that have logged in over the past 2 weeks.

Q: So this hits literally every player and every weapon they own?

A: Yes and no. Every player should be seen by our scraper. The process will compute stats on items seen in the vault / inventory of players who have granted access to their "non-equipped Inventory". However, the default Bungie.net permissions only allow us to see the full details on weapons that are equipped by each player's characters.

Q: Doesn't that skew the stats?

A: Partially. Presumably if someone has the weapon equipped, they like it, which would mean that the perks equipped on it are perceived to be better. At the same time, most people are probably dismantling rolls that they think are bad, so even if we could see their whole inventory, we might not catch many "dud" rolls. Overall, the phenomenon of (mostly) only being able to see equipped rolls will reduce the overall number of rolls on less popular weapons, but the perks on those that are visible will likely trend toward being more popular, otherwise people wouldn't keep the roll, let alone equip it.

Q: Why do percentages like 19% fill the whole bar?

A: The bars for each percentage are relative to the most popular perk in that column. The most popular perk will fill its bar, and each perk under that will illustrate how popular it is relative to the most popular. So, if 22% of rolls use the most popular perk in a column and 11% of rolls use the least popular perk, the bar on the least popular perk should appear to be roughly half full. The intent of displaying it this way is to create better contrast between the options.

Q: How do curated rolls factor into this?

A: The usage stats are based only on randomly-rolled, legendary weapons.

Q: Can you explain the letter ranks that are given based on these stats?

A: Ranks range from F- to S+, based on how "far" your roll is from the community average roll. A roll with the least popular perk in each column should be ranked F-, and a roll with the most popular perk in each column should be ranked S+.

A: The best way for everyone to help make this tool more accurate / complete is to update your Bungie.net privacy settings to allow API tools to view your non-equipped inventory. The more people that allow full access to their inventory, the more weapons we'll be able to detect, and the more comprehensive the statistics that fall out of that will be.

New player stuck after tutorial

I downloaded this game Destiny 2 on Steam. Made a class, went through the tutorial, and ended up on a place with a six-legged boss, a few players and a lot of mobs. Each time the boss dies a chest spawns so we can loot it. Now I have been killing this boss many times, and running around trying to figure out where this game is trying to take me, but there is nothing more than just that small place. What the ♥♥♥♥ is going on??

Introduced in the recent Witch Queen expansion, it provides seasoned players with even more raids and missions to enjoy. However, it’s not immediately accessible once you load the expansion for the first time, leading players to ask exactly how to get it. How to Get the Learning Light Quest in Destiny 2

Yes, actually unlocking the Learning Light quest is a surprisingly tricky process. In fact, you’ll need to have already completed plenty of the quests from previous expansions, or it may not appear. More specifically, it’s tied to the New Light quest line, and the A Guardian Rises quests that were present from the base game.

First things first, you should make an effort to complete as many A Guardian Rises quests as you can. Even if you own the New Light quests and start making your way through them, you won’t unlock the Learning Light quest unless you’ve made decent progress in the former questline.

One thing you should know is that A Guardian Rises requires you to make a completely new guardian to use in those missions. It’ll definitely come as bad news to players who have used the same character throughout, but it’s crucial to actually progressing.

Once you’ve done a good amount of A Guardian Rises quests, you unlock the New Light campaign. From there, it’s a matter of plodding through those missions, because the Learning Light quest will naturally unlock as you make your way through them. Sadly, there’s no easier way to do it. Your only choice is to grind through other quests, but Destiny 2 diehards are more than used to that by now.

Once you’ve played enough of the New Light campaign, you’ll see Learning Light pop up as unlocked. Then you can dive into that fresh batch of missions, giving you tons more to do in Destiny 2.

How to Start the Learning Light Quest in Destiny 2

The Learning Light Quest is one of the trickiest missions to do in Destiny 2 New Light. To unlock this quest, players are required to complete tons of missions and quests from the New Light Quests and the A Guardian Rises quests. Once you have done enough, a pop-up notification will appear on the player’s screen and the Learning Light quest will be available.

How to Complete the Destiny 2 Learning Light Quest

At the start of the quest and previously discovering what remains of Maeve’s ghost, you have started to gain control of the Light and now need to learn how to harness it. From there, head to Shaw Han in the Cosmodrome. After talking to him, you will be awarded a rare Sniper Rile.

After receiving the reward, follow the waypoint all the way to the cliff and commune with the Traveler. Once you interact with the Traveler, head back to Shaw Han and speak with him to report what has happened.

Lastly, after returning to Shaw, you will be transported to the Tower where players will meet with Ikora Rey during the Advent mission and will be able to speak with her to complete the mission. Once you meet Ikora Rey, you can speak with her to complete the quest, rewarding you with the Tower Shell Legendary Ghost Shell.

After completing all the necessary steps for the Learning Light Quest, talk to the Exo Stranger and she will reward you with the High Albedo Legendary Sidearm.
