How to invite friends on Ark single player

Ark: Survival Evolved is rigorously current. The arrival of Arkadia, the mega-server captained by Willyrex, Vegeta, Nexxuz and Nefarius, has allowed survival to reappear on the front line. In this piece we will tell you how to create a private game and what actions you must take to invite your friends to the game.

How to create a private game and invite your friends in Ark: Survival Evolved

There are several options to play only with your friends. You have the ability to create a dedicated server or host a session. In the first one, you must bear in mind that your console (or PC) will have to be on permanently, so we recommend the simplest way: be the host of your own game.

We leave you the steps below:

  • Open Ark: Survival Evolved and select the second option: Host Local. In no case give Join Ark.

  • You will see a screen where you can modify the server settings, from enabling mods to the type of resistance of each enemy and character, as well as the environment and context chosen. Change the options you want.

  • Once completed, click on the fourth option in the middle column, the one that says “host a non-dedicated session”.

  • A pop-up window will appear in which you will put the name of the session, the administrator password and a private starting box. Click on the box, fill in the rest of the fields and click on accept.

  • When you reappear on the map, press start and you will see a lot of information panels. Now you must add in the whitelist the players that can access your session. Put the nickname of your friends and share the name of the server. From that moment they will be able to access your same game.

What is more fun than exploring the maps of Ark Survival Survival Evolved? Enjoy this amazing game with your friends! You are probably excited to show your buddies all the incredible dinosaurs and features, and if you don’t exactly know how to do this, just continue reading.

First of all, there are multiple ways to play with your friends, so it all comes down to your preference. You can choose to play on a public server if you want to be around your friends but also interact with many other players.

Another alternative is represented by dedicated and non-dedicated servers. Dedicated ones are perfect if you want the liberty to hop on and off the server any time. Non-dedicated is basically a host. You play on a single-player map, but your friends can join the game. With this option, you are the one who controls the settings and you have to start the game so others can join. Lastly, if you don’t have the necessary specifications, you can even rent a dedicated server.

    How it works:

    • Online servers: Open the game and simply press “Join Ark”. Choose the same server as your friends and meet them there!
    • Non-Dedicated server: Instead of clicking on “Join Ark”, click on “Host/Local”. After that, you will have multiple versions in the middle of the screen, including “Play Single Player” and “Run Non-Dedicated Server”. Choose the dedicated server and spawn it into your world. You can then invite your friends through Steam
    • Dedicated server: In the same menu, above the “Run Non-Dedicated Server” is also the option “Run Dedicated Server”. However, clicking the button won’t be enough, as you have to install an app called “Ark Server Manager”
