How to buy fruit trees animal crossing

To get all the Animal Crossing New Horizons fruit you are going to have to travel and work with friends. There's six types of fruit in total, but you only get one growing natively on your island. That means to collect the full set you'll have travel to random islands in the hope of finding different specimens, or coordinate with friends to swap and trade across the range. Not only is getting everything satisfying but you can also sell 'foreign' fruit for lots of Bells. And making money is always handy. 

So to help you out, here's all the Animal Crossing New Horizons fruit types and how to get them.

• Orange
• Pear
• Peach

You will get one natively growing per island, as we've mentioned, but here's how to get the rest:

Use Nook Miles Tickets to visit random islands

Once you've paid off your initial moving fees for the island - that 5,000 Mile toll from Tom Nook - you'll unlock the ability to spend your Miles on all sorts of things, including Nook Miles Tickets. Purchased from the Nook Stop in Resident Services for 2,000 Miles a pop, they allow you to temporary travel to another randomly generated island, which will have the chance of spawning a different fruit type - along with a tonne of other resources of course. 

Plus, these islands will always have palm trees on the beach, for nabbing yourself a coconut or 10. Make sure to plant your 'nuts on the beach when you're back home too, they won't grow anywhere else. 

If you really want to get all the Animal Crossing: New Horizons fruit fast, you'll need to coordinate with your fellow Animal Crossing-playing buddies to do a fruit swap. Or, put out your shout on the internet and see who replies. It can be a wonderful world out there so get travelling.

You can do this via the Airport of course, you'll just need their Dodo ID, or already be friends on Switch, in order to make the trip.

Can you get perfect fruit in Animal Crossing: New Horizons?

Animal Crossing: New Horizons perfect fruit feels like a bit of a myth right now. In New Leaf, you had a high chance of getting a perfect fruit version of your native fruit growing on a single tree. These perfect fruit will retail for 3000-odd bells instead of the usual 600, so it was quite the little money maker. 

But so far, it seems it's unconfirmed whether you can get perfect fruit in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, but we'll keep you posted if we discover, or hear, anything different.

Only one of the above fruits will grow on your island (or any one given island) as a native fruit. You cannot choose which fruit you get & it will be determined when you start the game. As it cannot be changed later, reset the game repeatedly to try to get the native fruit you want.

Coconuts Require Nook Miles Tickets

To get Coconuts, you need to earn Nook Miles & get a Nook Miles ticket to travel over to a tropical island where coconuts grow. Once you are on said tropical island, head to a beach to search for coconut trees.

Fruit Prices

Foreign Fruits Sell For 500 Bells

The selling price of non-native fruit is 5 times higher than native fruit. You can plant fruits brought from other islands & grow them on your islands. Make use of the multiplayer function to get non-native fruits!

How To Plant & Regrow Fruits

Fruits Regrow After 2 Days

After shaking a tree and causing its contents to fall out, you can expect to have the fruits respawn after 2 days. It doesn't matter whether you actually pick up the fruits - all that matters is shaking them off!

How To Plant A Fruit Tree

Step 1 & 2: Bury A Fruit In The Hole

Dig a hole with your shovel, open the menu, and select a fruit from your inventory. Bury the fruit in the hole of your choosing.

Step 3: Wait 3 Days

Simply wait 3 days until the tree grows. You don't have to water the tree with your watering can - it'll all happen automatically!

How To Eat Fruit & Effects

You Can Break Rocks After Eating Fruits

Eating fruit gives you one stamina per fruit. The max amount of stamina is 10. You can break rocks with an axe or shovel by consuming stamina! Note that rocks take time for them to respawn.

You Can Reset Your Stamina Using Toilets

You can reset your charged stamina to zero by sitting on a toilet and... well, you can imagine. If you're worried about accidentally destroying a tree with your overwhelming strength, it might be time for a trip to the lavatory.

Villagers Sometimes Ask For Them

Villagers on your island will sometimes ask you to get them some fruit. Gather and give them fruits to increase your friendship level!

How To Get Other Fruits

1 Type Can Grow On Your Island

In the first stages of the game, only 1 type of fruit can grow on your island. If you want to get another type of fruit, you'll need to visit other islands.
