Is Kelly Ripa leaving Live?

Thankfully, Kelly is not leaving Live with Kelly and Ryan in 2022. The actress had taken some time away from the show due to wanting to spend quality time with her family during the break.

Kelly has since returned and has been enjoying her time hosting Live with Kelly and Ryan once again.

When did she join Live?

Kelly has been part of Live with Kelly and Ryan for over a decade. She first joined as the host in 2021 and since then, she has been doing a marvellous job entertaining her viewers.

Prior to her arrival, the show’s host was Kathie Lee Gifford. In an interview with Variety, Kelly opened up about replacing the former host. She admitted for a long time she thought it would be hard to fill such big shoes. However, as the show went by, she managed to fall in love with what she does.

In the same interview, Kelly revealed that she believes the show has managed to become successful because of its format. The 20-minute episode with two people having a normal conversation has been loved by many and Kelly thinks that it is the exact reason why it has managed to go on for so long.

Has the actress ever thought about leaving the show?

While Kelly has enjoyed over a decade of being the host of Live with Kelly and Ryan, there have been times when the actress has thought about leaving.

While appearing on Bethenny Frankel on her weekly podcast Just B, Kelly admitted there had been times when she has thought about leaving permanently as she wasn’t too comfortable being in front of the camera.

This might come as a shock for many as Kelly has been a part of the entertainment industry for several years. However, the actress revealed she does not like attention and enjoys the quieter side of life. Thankfully, Kelly doesn’t seem to be going on

Kelly Ripa returned to Live With Kelly and Ryan on Monday after taking a break from the popular daytime TV talk show. However, many fans might not have noticed Kelly's absence after she prerecorded segments before she left.

When the former actress returned to Live she revealed to fellow Live cohost Ryan Seacrest that she was busy cheering on her youngest son Joaquin. As fans may know, Kelly has three kids with her husband, Mark Consuelos, including Joaquin, Lola and Michael.

"I spent my spring break at the Big Tens and the NCAA finals," Kelly told Ryan. She explained that Joaquin is a collegiate wrestler at the University of Michigan and he attended the NCAA Division 1 league conference.

Kelly went on to clarify that Joaquin didn't compete in the tournament because he's a freshman. She shared that although she loved being there for him, it brought her a sense of relief that he wasn't facing other collegiate athletes face on the mat. "It took years off my life watching these young men," she said on the ABC show.

Since getting accepted into the University of Michigan, Kelly has shared aspects of Joaquin's transition into college and how she has supported his longtime ambition. Back in September, the mom of three opened up about the different experience she and Mark had with Joaquin going to school of state.

"We became empty nesters. We took our youngest son to college, we dropped him off. It was hard. It was really hard," she said. "It's one of those things where, you can never be ready. We've done it before but the other two, they stayed in New York so we knew they were there."

By the looks of it, Kelly and Mark are still super close to Joaquin!

Flying solo. Ryan Seacrest joked his Live! With Kelly and Ryan cohost Kelly Ripa had retired after winning the lottery amid her week-long absence from the show.

The American Idol host, 47, was showcasing custom embroidered pillowcases alongside guest host Katie Lowes on the Tuesday, August 9, episode of the ABC morning talk show when the Scandal alum, 39, gave Ripa, 51, a shout-out. “Kelly, we miss you. We got you a Consuelos one,” she said, referring to Ripa’s husband, Mark Consuelos.

In response, Seacrest joked, “I heard she won the lottery. She’s fine.”

The New Jersey native is currently on vacation with Consuelos, 51, in the Hamptons, just one month after the former soap opera stars enjoyed an empty nester’s getaway. “This is our first vacation in 25 years without children and parents. … It’s usually us, with the kids or … kit and caboodle,” she confessed during a July episode of Live! “So Mark and I were like, ‘What are we going to do without the kids?’ And the kids were like, ‘What are you going to do without us!? We’re your whole lives!’ And I was like, ‘Wrong again, kids.'”

The couple — who tied the knot in 1996 — share children Michael, 25, and Joaquin, 19, and Lola, 21. During their trip, they went on a rock-climbing excursion in Utah and Colorado, where they had “the time of our lives,” as Ripa told viewers last month. “There was some work involved in this trip but that’s not what we were doing. We just went rock climbing. We went to the Amangiri [resort], out in Utah. It is luxury. It’s like, the kind of trip we would take without kids.”

Though the twosome enjoyed their time away together, the Hope & Faith alum joked that she felt like others were wondering about their children. “We got a massage! I mean, there were kids there, don’t get me wrong. But I could see the other families looking at us. People were like, ‘Where are your kids?'” she told Seacrest. “And I was like, ‘They’re adults now. They have jobs. They couldn’t get off work.’ And they were like, ‘Wait, what? You have kids who are adults?’ ‘Yes, we have kids who are adults. But more importantly, they’re not on this trip.'”

Earlier that month, Ripa opened up about one of the last child-free trips she and Consuelos took — their honeymoon — where he convinced her to travel to a nude beach. “I did go topless on my honeymoon and I’m so grateful — I’m so, so grateful,” she recalled on her talk show in July. “I was like, ‘How could you take that photo of me? The man at the photo mat saw me naked!’ … [But] do you know that I often rifle through the shoebox? And I go, ‘Well, just remember! It used to look like this!'”

More than two decades after that vacation, the Riverdale star still knows how to make Ripa feel sexy. “We’ve been together a long time, but all Mark has to do is look at me [and I] feel so special, so pretty and so young,” she told ET Canada in September 2020. “It’s probably his superpower. He knows how to treat his spouse like the only person in the world.”
