Who we are imagine dragons lyrics

anonymous Sep 22nd 2015 report

Most of ya'll are saying it's about not being able to change who you are, but that's not true. You're always able to change. I took it to a more Christian like meaning. It's about being one of the few who know the truth, whilst the whole world turns against who you are. "They say we're crazy." People often assume we're hypocrites, or hate homosexuals and stuff our beliefs down people's throats, while yes some people do that but that's usually just them. There ARE good Christians in the world, but there is also bad ones. "Up in the mountain Down in the kings lair Pushing these blocks In the heat of the afternoon Oh afternoon We were never welcome here We..." Influenced by the government like cattle, if you haven't noticed the schooling system treats kids like livestock. The physical exams, everything. Just a way of controlling us. Kids, and adults are being made to do work, allot of it might not even be worth doing. This world is not our home, you should not be attached to the things here, it is all a lie and we're all but pawns in a sick game.

Wether you're Christian or not, the end is near. The signs are everywhere, and when Christians start vanishing... You'll know. You might not believe me now, but you'll know when the time comes.

"Who We Are" is a song by American rock band Imagine Dragons. The song was originally recorded for the 2013 Soundtrack album The Hunger Games: Catching Fire – Original Motion Picture Soundtrack, which serves as the official soundtrack to the 2013 American science-fiction adventure film The Hunger Games: Catching Fire. It appears as the seventh track on the album.[1]

Composition

The song's lyrics allude to District 12, a region of the fictional country of Panem in The Hunger Games universe, subject to the nation's mining industry, and recounts the feelings of the rebels in District 12 at the onset of the rebellion towards the end of Catching Fire. In addition, the song makes several apparent references to The Hunger Games, especially the events of Catching Fire, including the attic where the protagonists of the novel meet during the rebellion of District 11 and "the view from up here", which references Katniss Everdeen's strategy of climbing trees to get a better view of the arena during the Hunger Games themselves.[2]

Up in the morning, Up in the evening, Picking down talks when the birds get back to me. Oh, to me. Up on the mountain, Down in the king's lair, Pushing these boxes in the heat of the afternoon. Oh, afternoon. We were never welcome here, We were never welcome here at all. No. It's who we are. Doesn't matter if we've gone too far. Doesn't matter if it's all okay. Doesn't matter if it's not our day. Save us, What we are, Don't look clear, It's all uphill from here. Ooh. Up in the attic, Down in the cellar, Lost in a static, Coming back for more. Oh, for more. Out with the reason, In with the season, Taking down names in my book of jealousy. Jealousy. We were never welcome here. We were never welcome here at all. No. It's who we are. Doesn't matter if we've gone too far. Doesn't matter if it's all okay. Doesn't matter if it's not our day. Because it's who we are. Doesn't matter if we've gone too far. Doesn't matter if it's all okay. Doesn't matter if it's not our day. Save us, What we are, Don't look clear, It's all uphill from here. Ooh. They say we're crazy. They say we're crazy. They say we're crazy. They say we're crazy. They say we're crazy. They say we're crazy. They say we're crazy. They say we're, crazy. Why won't you save us, What we are, Don't look clear, It's all uphill from here. Ooh.
