Biography

Adam Goldberg

Adam Goldberg is an actor, director, producer and musician, best known for his roles in the feature films Dazed and Confused, A Beautiful Mind, Saving Private Ryan, The Hebrew Hammer, Deja Vu, 2 Days in Paris and Zodiac.

Goldberg's additional film credits include the Tribeca Film Festival feature Between Us, opposite Olivia Thirlby and Ben Feldman; Once Upon a Time in Venice, alongside Jason Momoa, John Goodman, Bruce Willis and Famke Janssen; and the indie features Rebirth and Jason Cabell's Running with the Devil, opposite Nicholas Cage and Laurence Fishburne. He can next be seen in the The Georgetown Project, opposite Russel Crowe.

Also, Goldberg wrote, directed, produced and starred in the feature film No Way Jose. He lent a combination of those same skills to the films I Love Your Work, Running with the Bulls and Scotch and Milk.

On television, Goldberg has starred in the series Taken, The Jim Gaffigan Show, The Unusuals and The Street. He has had memorable recurring roles in series such as Fargo and Entourage. On the Network, he starred in the police procedural NYC 22 and recurred in the family drama God Friended Me.

Goldberg has a personal passion for photography and music. A guitarist and songwriter, he composed and arranged the music to I Love Your Work and Running with the Bulls, and provided a song for the Hebrew Hammer soundtrack. Goldberg has issued both rock and jazz albums, most recently under his band name, The Goldberg Sisters.

Sean Giambrone was born on May 30, 1999, under the zodiac sign of Gemini. He was born in St. Joseph, Michigan in a family of Italian and German descent to David Giambrone and Vonda Giambrone. He grew up in Park Ridge, Illinois with his elder brother, Luke Giambrone.

Sean Giambrone’s Career

Everything started when Sean was in elementary school and was very interested in acting. He would often play in short home videos with his brother.

During an interview with Chicago Tribune, Sean talked about his experience of shooting those home videos, “I always had a blast (making those movies), dressing up in the costumes and stuff.”

“I loved the whole idea of getting into character. Then, when I was in elementary school, there was a variety of shows that I acted in. That’s when I started thinking that I wanted to pursue it.”

That was when Sean’s mother supported his passion by connecting him with a talent agent, Brooke Tonneman, who is the co-owner of Chicago-based Big Mouth Talent. 

Sean was 9 years of age and began to star in television commercials for Friendly’s Restaurants and McDonald’s among several other brands.

The first film role Sean did was Afro Boy in the family comedy, ‘I Heart Shakey.’ 

It was in September 2013 when the actor was cast as Adam Goldberg, the youngest child of the Goldberg family, in ‘The Goldbergs.’ 

In February 2014, Sean became a part of the voice cast for the animated series, ‘Clarence.’ The series aired on Cartoon Network, and Sean voiced the character, Jeff, who is a friend of the lead character. 

Sean also appeared in R.L. Stine’s ‘The Haunting Hour,’ in 2010. He also provided his voice for the character of a bull terrier named Russell in the film, ‘Russell Madness.’

Since 2020, the actor has been voicing the character, Ben Pincus, in ‘Jurassic World Camp Cretaceous.’

Adam Frederick Goldberg is the main protagonist and narrator of The Goldbergs.

The character is based on the real Adam F. Goldberg. He is the youngest child of Murray and Beverly Goldberg and the brother of Erica and Barry Goldberg. He is also clearly Beverly's favorite child over Barry and Erica. Patton Oswalt voices present-day Adam as the narrator with Sean Giambrone portraying the adolescent Adam.

Barry Goldberg

Dana Caldwell

Dana Caldwell was Adam's neighbor and first crush. He met her in the episode "The Ring" and tried to woo her by holding a boom box outside her window like the character in the movie Say Anything. Later, in the episode "You Opened the Door", Adam and Dana have their first school dance. In "You're Not Invited", he receives his first kiss from her when he dies for her in a game of laser tag. However, in "Goldbergs Feel Hard" it is revealed that Dana is moving to Seattle, and in "Weird Al", they decide to break up after realizing how much they have grown apart. She returns in "Dana's Back" after her grandmother passes away and her family moves back to Jenkintown, and makes clear to Adam that she just wants to be friends.

Jackie Geary

Jackie Geary is Adam's girlfriend in seasons 4, 5 and 6. When he met her, he thought she was awesome and liked her because she was a nerd, just like him.

Brea Bee

Brea Bee is Adam's current girlfriend. The two became friends after partnering together for a lab assignment and discovering they have a lot of mutual interests.

Education 

Adam attended William Penn Academy from seasons 1-9 and as of the season 9 finale has graduated.
