The Story of Eldenring Explained!!! from Eldenring

Ok so the Mimic spirit ash is basically a copy of yourself and inherits whatever you have currently equipped right?....Armor plus whatever armament you have currently equipped in left and right hand at the point of summoning.

What about Talismans? For example. If you have talismans equipped such as Graven-Mass Talisman (Greatly raises potency of sorceries), Shard of Alexander (Greatly boosts the attack power of skills), Dragoncrest Greatshield Talisman (Enormously boosts physical damage negation), Pearledrake Talisman +2 (Enormously boosts non-physical damage negation).

  1. Does Mimic also inherit your equipped Talismans too benefitting from the buffs?

  2. What about your current level? Is Mimic performing based on your current total level? For example at your level 100 he'll be performing a certain level. At level 300+ he'll be performing at much higher level accordingly.

I loved my playthrough of Elden Ring, explored as much as possible, probably missed quite a bit of content and had to respec a couple of times to finish the game, especially the last boss. When I finished, I had no intention to do NG+, after all I had other games to play.

However

I can't get into any of my back catalogue of games, nothing feels as good. I've tried sports games, puzzle games, JRPG, turn based games, other open world games (bad idea) and a few smaller indie games, but while I'm playing these games, all I can think about is starting NG+ on Elden Ring.

So, in desperation I turn to the Reddit forums, surely someone will know what to do. Please help.

Edit Thank you for all the great suggestions, I've added a few to my list. Also in hindsight I should have mentioned that I've played and loved all the fromsoft games with the exception of Sekiro. I have also taken the response to this post as a validation to what I deep down knew I was going to do. NG+ starts tonight.

Everytime I google this I just see reviewers hyping up the game like yes I understand it's an awesome game.

BUT WHAT IS THE ACTUAL ELDEN RING?? Has anyone obtained this item? Is it an item? What the heck is going on im losing my mind!

I finished the game and, srsly, wtf is that? It is a rune? I know his "true" form but that doesnt explain anything.

Also, why did they kill Godwyn?

Thx in advance, i may have not been paying attention.

Firstly, sorry for the length...

Elden Ring is an open world game without any direction other than flowery language that does nothing but obscure the message behind it. When someone tells you what you need to do, they say it once and never repeat it. They tell you to go to a place hidden behind an illusory wall that you've never heard of before, on a map you haven't gotten yet and expect you to know what the fuck they mean.

When you get to a boss, it can be epic or you can already have 1 crimson flask left and have no reason to bother trying before you respawn at the Stake of Marika, taking all the wind out of the initial impact of the boss. Then you can try the boss once or twice, realise that there is little to no way that you can beat it right now and take off.

Where in other From Soft games, you will eventually reach a point that you have no choice but to beat your head against a wall until you beat the boss, in Elden Ring there is no reason to do this. What's that? Margit is too tough? piss off and explore. There's a dragon in a field? Run around it, get past it and forget it exists. what's that? There is any boss? either run around/past it or don't fight it and instead just run around on a horse.

What reason do I have to fight a giant troublesome boss if I could just turn around and do *anything* else? With how open the world is, there is almost no end to what you can do without ever actually fighting a boss.

The only thing driving you to beat bosses is progressing the story. But why would I progress the story if I haven't understood a single thing that has been said to me?

In other From Soft games, you reach a point that you have to beat your head on the wall. In Sekiro, you reach a point that the only way forward is to kill Genichiro at the top of Ashina. In Elden Ring, you reach a point of "Fuck it, I guess I'll try that guy again?"

There is even a ton of bosses that I never even saw, not because I didn't look, but because they were only in the area during a certain time of day, or in the rain, or at a certain point in a quest that I didn't know existed.

My biggest issue with the game is simply the open world. Or at least the way it was implemented. Why would I beat my head against the wall if I have other stuff to do? Why would I fight that crowd of enemies if I can just run past them and get the rewards anyway? Why fight that field boss if I can just run past and keep doing other stuff?

I really love this game, but I have no idea what's going on. I've tried to follow dialogues, speak to NPCs, the finger crones and others but whenever I think I'm starting to get the picture, the story evades me..

I try to get my friends into the game and they ask me, "So, what is this game about?"... And I'm like 0.0..... "Ummm, an Elden ring is broken and you are on a journey to fix it... I guess?"

So I'd appreciate if someone could explain to me
