You can become any other mob in the game and it also supports mobs added by other mods so you can become pretty much anything you want!
Once you’ve killed a mob and it’s been absorbed by you, you’ll need to trigger the morph and choose which entity you want to become. The default keys are the left ( [ ) or right ( ] ) brackets. This will bring up a scrollable menu on the left side of your screen. You can either scroll with the mouse wheel or cycle up and down with either bracket key. Then you hit enter and you’ll start to transform into whatever you choose!
The more entities you absorb the more will be available to choose from the menu.
There are some benefits to each entity that varies depending on which you choose. Most of the standard animals won’t do too much other than great disguises and the overall fun of being whatever animal you want to be!
But some animals have special abilities that you will be able to take advantage of once you’ve transformed. Being a chicken, for example, will allow you to float gently to the ground instead of to your death. You won’t be able to fly naturally outside of creative mode but it’s still a handy trait to take advantage of.
You can also morph into enemy mobs, which carry some better benefits but also some downsides. These are hostile mob types and there are some config options to play with if you want to change the way other hostile mobs behave around you. By default you’ll still be noticed and attacked by other hostile mobs but in the config menu you can set different modes from 0-5. If you set it to 1 then you’ll be treated like any other hostile mob and won’t be attacked right away. The other options can be set so only the same mobs as you won’t attack or won’t attack unless attacked first. You can even set simply the distance a hostile mob needs to be from you to notice you aren’t one of them.
But above all, if the mob you choose will burn in the daylight then so will you if you are morphed as one and the sun comes up.
And if you want to be an Enderman, you’ll have some extra hearts of health but steer clear of the water since they tend to be a bit sensitive.
Morphing into a spider will let you walk around at a much lower height and you can scale walls! Just walking up to any wall will instantly allow you to start climbing just like every block is a ladder.
If you morph into a squid you get the ability of underwater sight, underwater breathing, and you’ll be able to swim so much faster than normal.
Ghasts and any mob from the Nether will give you fire immunity, which would come in handy especially while roaming the lava oceans of the underworld. Ghasts also have the ability to fly so you can torment villagers like you always dreamed of!
You’ll see tiny icons next to each entity and that will tell you what abilities you’ll have once you morph. This is a handy little feature to help you assess if a certain entity will help you in any given scenario.
And when you want to return to your normal self, all you have to do is hit the bracket key again and scroll to the top. Hit enter and you’ll be back to normal! And you can morph again at any time since the essences will still be with you.
