How to make athletic greens taste better Reddit

Hi all, new to this sub. I have been taking a “one a day” multi vitamin and a 50 mg zinc every day. I used to take fish oil then switched to algae supplement for omega 3 then read that some trick your body to thinking it is getting the nutrients needed but in fact it gives you nothing so it’s harmful to take. So I stopped taking that. Anyway I have heard on a few different podcast that athletic greens is good and helpful. So all of that to say, as I said when I started I am new to the sub and looking to find some good supplements and need some help. I’m 41M and in decent shape. I don’t suffer from anything other than being tired mid day and I drink about 4 cups of coffee in the morning. Just wanting to be healthy for my kids as they grow up and I like being active and want to continue that for 40 more years.

Probably a silly question and I tried searching without a ton of results. I actually like my Greens+ daily and it helps with body regulation. I notice the difference without it. However, pre-SCD, I took it with a smoothie concoction that included fresh, and frozen, berries, naturally flavored chocolate protein, and peanut butter. Because it tastes absolutely horrible on it's own.

This is the product I use (non-affiliate link): http://www.amazon.com/Advanced-Superfood-Greens-Orange-Enterprises/dp/B00012NG5I?ie=UTF8&refRID=B6T07VM7ZGGWPKQ4CD3B&ref_=pd_nav_hcs_bia_t_1

Question - How do you all drink this? Straight up like warriors? I was thinking of SCD friendly mixtures..

Maybe, almond milk, spoon full of natural PB, scoop of greens+, scoop of whey protein (I know this is frowned upon but I also lift weights (heavy) and surf frequently). Aside from the protein (which does have 3g of sugar, 2.5 g of carbs) is this acceptable?

I should try it without the protein but it's so hard to choke that stuff down. I also tend to have good results on SCD (not my first run at it) but I also seem to lose a lot of muscle which freaks me out. My lifts drop in the gym and I know it shouldn't make me feel bad but it does. So I'm trying to keep it up.

Any other mixes anyone uses to chug this awfully tasting goodness?

I live in Sweden. I know many people who take athletic greens and say it’s amazing but would love to hear if there is any better alternatives found in Europe ? Would also love to hear how people felt after taking A.G ?

I was wondering if anyone had experience using this supplement and their thoughts on it. They seem to use a lot of buzz words for the drink and have endorsements from Tim Ferris. In principal it sounds like a good supplement but I haven’t tried these in the past so can’t say for sure. Can you share your thoughts on the product and your experience with it: https://athleticgreens.com/products/ultimate-daily-greens-powder/us

PS: I know there have been posts on this previously but it was 5-6 years ago so wondering if there is a different take on it today.

Thanks!

It seems like a pretty awesome way to supplement a decent diet, it's quick and easy and can be taken on an empty stomach. Of course it cannot replace actual greens, but instead fill in nutritional holes. The monthly cost is really what has me on the edge. Thoughts?

Is anyone else taking Athletic Greens? Any results out there from tracking in journal? Not interested in hearing about it's pricing...I get it.

Wondering if its worth the cost? What has been your experience with it

Thinking about getting some and wanted to ask opinions first. Thanks

Im looking for some honest thoughts on AG. I did some googling/searching, and cant really find any reviews that arent paid or low quality. Im thinking about taking it because i have an *okay* diet, but i definitely dont eat as much micro nutrients as I should. Im hoping you guys can share your experiences, or know where to point me on in depth reviews/studies.
